Phew!

The post uploader didn't work, so I've spent hours, coutless hours manually saving my lj posts for posterity.

But I wasn't active on there the last bunch of years anyways!

So for fun I thought I'd compare and contrast how life was when I started my lj, compared to how life is now!

Back when I started my lj I was:
16, in my last year or so of school, and I'd just started my first job.
I was single
I was fit and healthy and had no set career plans, though I liked the idea of being an archaeologist or a historian.
I had only ever visited England, France and Catalonia and wanted to see more of the world if possible.
My main fandoms were Stargate SG-1 and Star Trek Voyager

Now, starting my dw, I am:
34, been working a steady job now for the past three years. It's my... *thinks* 10th job, but I think this one's a winner (at long last).
I am as single at 34 as I was at 16 and no longer care.
My health is honestly not that great for my age, but I won't bore you. I have long given up career aspirations. As long as I have a job that pays me fairly, doesn't overly stress me, but still helps me improve upon my skills, I'm quite content. It took me till my 30s to finally get to this point and be happy about it.
I've now travelled a fair bit more - Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Morocco and Ireland - but I want to see more. Since I'm afraid of flying I've made it my goal to visit every country in Europe.
My main fandoms are Yuri!!! On Ice and Naruto, but I drift in and out of about a dozen fandoms all in.

Oh, wow - I can imagine how long that must have taken! I had first tried to import my LJ posts here a few years back and it failed. I didn't expect it to work this time, but (shockingly) it did!

It's amazing how time flies and things change (or some things do, some things don't). I was the ripe old age of 28 when I first started my LJ, LOL. I started DW about 5 years later when LJ was down but I neglected it for ages.

I'm still single myself... was married for a very short time, got divorced, dated on and off and haven't had the opportunity to get back into dating for some time. I'd like to try again but at the moment I'm just enjoying my single life.

I'm glad that you've got a job that makes you happy. That's so important IMO.
